IRON

Iron

Iron and steel, which are the most used metals, appear in every aspect of our daily life. Today, iron is the main raw material of industry and plays an important role in the economic development of countries.

In the past, iron ore with the desired properties in the blast furnace was met directly by the production in mines. However, the rapid increase in the need of the industry for iron and the gradual decrease in the ore that can be loaded directly into the blast furnace has made it necessary to make use of low-grade ores as well.

The main raw material of the iron and steel industry is iron ore. In order for a mine to make use of ore, it must be economical to operate and use it. It is desired that the batching grade of iron ores used in the steel industry be at least 57% Fe.

Iron ores are found in nature in the form of Magnetite (Fe3O4), Hematite (Fe2O3), Limonite (2Fe2O3. 2H2O), Gothite (Fe2O3. H2O), Chalybite (Siderite) (FeCO3) and Pyrite (FeS2) minerals.
