ZINC

ZINC

In terms of usage, zinc is one of the three most important metals among non-ferrous metals after aluminum and copper.

These three metals are mainly used to increase the corrosion resistance of iron and steel, and to produce special alloys and brass alloys used in the casting industry.

Zinc is also used in the manufacturing of zinc plates, roofing materials, and the tire industry (as ZnO). In terms of use, it is necessary to be well aware of the properties of zinc alloys and their compounds. From a commercial point of view, no decline occurs in the importance of zinc. Although there is competition between it and other metals in some of the application areas, the importance of zinc is not decreasing at all.

Almost 50% of the total zinc consumption is used in the production of galvanized steel, 20% is used in the production of brass, 15% is used in casting, 8% is used in the production of zinc oxide, and 7% is used in semi-fabricated products.
